The "Nick Heidfeld Cup" follows the International Football Council (IFAB) Rules of Football Competition 2025 / 2026 (unless otherwise specified in this tournament).
1. competition method
The event will have six competition days, and the organizing committee will determine the competition format based on the final number of registered teams in each group:
If there are no more than 7 registered teams in a certain group, a single round-robin format will be used, and the ranking will be determined directly based on points.
If there are more than 7 registered teams in a certain group, the competition is divided into two stages: group stage and knockout stage.
Group stage:
Each group of 4-6 teams play a single round-robin game.
A win earns 3 points, a draw earns 1 point, and a loss earns 0 points.
In the event of a tie in points, the ranking will be determined in the following order:
win-loss relationship between each other
goal difference between each other
The number of goals scored between each other
Overall goal difference
Total goals
draw lots
Knockout:
The top two teams from each group will enter the Class A knockout stage, while the remaining teams will enter the Class B knockout stage.
The elimination rounds will adopt a single elimination system until all the rankings are determined.
2. Game time
Eleven-a-side (Elite Tournament): Each half is 40 minutes, with a 10-minute break.
Eleven-a-side (ordinary competition): Each half is 35 minutes, with a 10-minute break.
Eight-player: 30 minutes per half, with a 10-minute break.
Five-person: 20 minutes per half (non-net time) with a 10-minute break.
The referee has the right to arrange an official water replenishment time in each half based on the weather conditions.
3. The competition venue
Eleven-person system: International standard football field.
Eight-player: The site is 68 meters long and 45 meters wide; The goal is 5 meters wide and 2 meters high.
Five-person: The site is 40 meters long and 23 meters wide; The goal is 3 meters wide and 2 meters high.

5. Special competition rules
Dealing with a draw: If there is a draw in regular time, the penalty shootout will be directly played.
Eleven-person/eight-person: Use the "5 + 1" rule.
Five-person: Use the "3 + 1" rule.
Eligibility for penalty kicks:
Eleven-person system: Only players on the field at the end of the game.
Eight-person and five-person: Any member on the registration list may be sent.
Overside rule: Eight-a-side and five-a-side matches do not have offside.
Minimum number of participants:
Eight-player: The number of players on the field must not be less than 6, otherwise the team will be judged to lose 0:3.
Five-person: The number of players on the field must not be less than 4, otherwise the team will be judged to lose 0:3.
Set-piece defense distance:
Eight-player: The defender must be at least 8 meters away from the ball.
Five-person: The defender must be at least 5 meters away from the ball.
Special regulations for the five-person system:
There is no 4-second serve limit for goal balls, out-of-bounds balls, and corner kicks.
The goalkeeper can catch a back pass from a team member with his foot.
The ball is served with the foot, and the direct goal is invalid. The corner kick is valid. The goalkeeper throws the ball directly into the goal.
There is no "big penalty."
After a player has been sent off with a red card, the team cannot replenish the player.
Substitution regulations:
Eleven-person system: Each game can be replaced with 5 players, and the number of substitutions should not exceed 3 times (excluding midfield substitutions). The player who has been substituted is not allowed to play again. Implement the special regulations for "concussion replacement."
Eight-player: There is no limit to the number of substitutions, and they must be completed with the permission of the fourth official in a dead ball state. The player who is substituted can play again.
Five-person: There is no limit to the number of substitutions, and they will be made in the designated substitution area, following the principle of "down first, up first". Violators will be given a yellow card warning. There is no need to wait for a dead ball, and the substituted player can play again.
Red and yellow card suspension:
Accumulated 2 yellow cards or 1 red card, automatically suspended for 1 match. After the suspension, the cumulative number of cards will be reset to zero.
The red and yellow cards from the group stage will be carried to the knockout stage.
For serious fouls, the referee committee has the right to impose additional suspension penalties.
If a suspended player violates the rules and plays, their team will lose 0:3 and deduct 1 point from the group points.
